Such a lovely and useful book! A birds eye view - the last book you need on birds, our feathered friends.
Following is from the author - Rod Villemaire, about why he wrote this book:
My strong motivation for writing this book is to share the knowledge I have amassed through the love of birds. My sincere goal is to help as many people as possible love and enjoy the wonderful world of pet birds as loving companions.
I have learned the information presented in this book over the past 35 years. This information did not come easily. It was learned by experimentation, trial and error, talking to pet bird experts, reading and researching constantly and through my own innovations. I have also applied many of the relevant techniques and medical facts which I learned in my profession as a Paramedic and Nurse. In addition, I adapted what I have learned from working with wild birds as an Ornithologist and Oologist to be utilized with your pet birds.
It has taken me many years of constant effort to gather, verify, refine, develop and apply all of the information contained in this book. The strong messages I have presented in this book and the strict adherence to the treatments, training and procedures I have presented as near ideal as possible.
All of this information, equipment, techniques, procedures and training may seem overwhelming at first. It is not realistic to expect new pet bird owners to acquire all the equipment and assimilate, understand and apply all of this information immediately. The important message here is to learn as much of this information and apply it as rapidly as is practical for you the pet bird owner. Remember that having a bird is a lifetime commitment! Be sure that having a bird is what would be best for you and the bird.

The Top 10 Most Frequently Played Songs On Several Famous Authors’ iTunes
JONATHAN SAFRAN FOER1. Macy Gray “I Try”2. Bon Iver “Towers”3. Conor Oberst “First Day of My Life”4. Bruce Springsteen “Prove It All Night”5. Everclear “Father of Mine”6. Outkast “Hey Ya!”7. Conor Oberst “Milk Thistle”8. Jay-Z “Big Pimpin (radio edit)”9. Xiu Xiu “I Do What I Want, When I Want”10. Bob Dylan “You’re a Big Girl Now”
“If Jonathan Safran Foer wakes up with an erection, he immediately puts on Bon Iver’s “Towers” and takes care of business. During the afternoons, if he is writing, he prefers the house to remain in silence, though sometimes when between projects he finds the Beckettian lyricism of Macy Gray’s “I Try” lends him a sense of willingness to challenge himself to take new leaps in ways a story might be told.” Read More (via true-grit)

How fun it is to enjoy a great book!
Just like Heimingway said:
All good books have one thing in common - they are truer than if they had really happened.
